Vila Palma, a cosy and comfortable villa, directly along fairway of Royal Golf Course on the Vale do Lobo estate, one of the most luxury resorts in the Algarve (Europa??) and only 200m away from world famous 16th hole where in spectacular scenery is played on- and over the 90° degrees uprising cliffs, simply a once in a lifetime experience, even for non-golfers (also see photo album).
Outside; the outside terrace offers fantastic views over golf course up to the a only few meters distinct Atlantic Ocean. Terrace is completely walled in with integrated BBQ and has own private access to fairway. Centrally positioned in outside area is a free shape swimming pool, surrounded by luxury sunbeds and a cosy sitting area, also to be used for breakfast and all other meals. Almost half of terrace is covered offering ample shady places when desired, on really hot days covered area even extendable by big awning. Even being seated on your outside terrace, you still have wonderful views!
Inside; very big living area (40m²) offering separate dining area, comfort sofa, 2 bambus feateuils, secretary, open fire place, Astra digital satellite television/radio and a radio/cassette/CD-player. Kitchen, partly open to living room is equipped fully with modern, purely quality brand E-appliances, eye catcher the American Fridge with ice crasher. Kitchen opens to little patio and hall (with guest toilet and main entrance). Sleeping area is completely to be separated from living/cooking/dining-area and has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Both bedrooms with double bed and built in wardrobe, in between them a little storage room for luggage and/or golf equipment. The "South-bedroom" also offers the already mentioned very pleasant views. For the colder months central heating spends comfortable living ambiente.

Vila Palma (map) is only a 20 minute drive away from Faro International Airport, 5km south of Almancil and situated on the exclusive Vale do Lobo resort, where the international jet-set resides. The villa is on the coastline (200m from the Atlantic) and immediately along the fairway of the Royal Golf Course (also see golf information)
Almancil has some of the most luxurious residential and holiday developments in the Algarve. Pre-eminent among these is Vale do Lobo ("Valley of the wolfs"), famous for high quality homes, winner of many international tourism prices and favourite trainings spot for the English national soccer team. Almost neighbour Quinta do Lago ("Estate at the sea"), consisting of a group of separate developments within one carefully master-planned estate, also has an outstanding reputation These complexes are embedding and/or surrounded by some of Europe´s finest golf courses, seven (!) 18 holes courses in total, all superbly designed and meticously maintained( More info below at golf section). In front of all these luxury resorts a splendid 14km long beach between Faro and Quarteira, invitng to hour long walks. The village of Almancil is aiming at the exclusive clientele of the luxury resorts surrounding it. You´ll find shops with renomated international flair and names, covering for all personal- and decorational shopping needs. Most of the resorts themselves have shopping possibilities; especially exclusive boutiques are widely spread. Bougainvilla Plaza in Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo Shopping for example are "the places to be"(seen).
Faro, the Algarve's capital and biggest city, offers everything to make a shopping heart beat faster. From small boutiques, crafts and art shops to a big shopping mall ("Forum Algarve"), there's something for everyone. In the historical centre there is a pedestrian area, harbour, narrow streets and several squares invite to wander or sit around in good atmosphere. Also, for shopping haters, there are several musea, the enormous Ria Formosa nature reserve and several other places of interest.
Loulé is the Algarve´s largest inland city and about 10 km north of your villa, administratively organising the regions biggest exclusive coastal resorts of Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo and Vilamoura. It lies north of Almancil and Quarteira and is well known for its carnaval and markets, always on Saturday mornings. Some of the Algarve´s most serene country side is situated in the hills behind Loulé and the most interesting communities are blessed with exotic sounding names: Sao Bras de Alportel and Santa Barbare de Nexe a little to the east. Furthermore Salir and Querenca, both hill top villages offering unspoilt Portuguese architecture and culture.

Golf is definitively the most popular sport in the Algarve, no wonder when realising the climatological conditions all year round and the exceptional beauty of lay outs (most of them by famous international golf architects!!) and surroundings.
Read below a selection of 7 excellent golf courses in your immediate surroundings out of the Algarve' approximately 25 golf courses, over half of them conveniently travelled within 45 car minutes.
Quinta do Lago
36 holes divided into Quinta Lago south course (now known as Quinta do Lago course (the old "championship" course), par 72, 6488m) and Quinta Lago north course (also known as Ria Formosa course, par 72, 6205m). A truly international setting, synonymous with luxury and exclusivity. Both the courses enjoy spectacular views. Quinta do Lago course hosted seven Portuguese Opens. Very photosque, with lakes and umbrella pines.
Ria Formosa course apart from the par 3´s, nearly every hole has some form of dog-leg, some quite severe, others just hinting at a curve. What they have in common is that they demand accuracy from the drives to achieve the best results from the second shots
Vale do Lobo
also offering two courses, named Ocean course and Royal course. As the name implies, Ocean course provides attractive links-style holes adjacent to the Atlantic. Some greens are set against a backdrop of white sand and the brilliant blue of the sea. There are parkland holes, too, meandering through the Vale do Lobo estate. The combination provides a challenging course for golfers of all handicaps. The Royal course is originally designed by Sir Henry Cotton and contains the famous seventh hole. "Rocky" Roquemore subsequently elaborated the original plans and laid out a wonderful test of golf. The sixteenth hole is the spectacular par-3 of 205m across the red sandstone cliffs for which Vale do Lobo is famous.
Pinheiros Altos
with two distinctly differing nines, Pinheiros Altos course(par 72, 6186m) provides a real golfing challenge, where "brain" is infinitely more useful than "brawn". The first nine wends its way through pine-clad, rolling countyside. The second nine drops down to a valley bottom, where intrusive lakes provide a test of accuracy.
San Lorenzo
set in the spectacular Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, this course(18 holes, par 72, 6238m) shares the same exclusive and charismatic location enjoyed by Quinta do Lago and Pinheiros Altos. Although the sheer magnificence of the setting can cause some confusion, the course is user friendly and it is consistently maintained to an excellent standard. Golf World currently rank it number 8 in continental Europe.
Vila Sol
this was the first course in Portugal designed by the English golf architect Donald Steel. It quickly gained international fame as it has hosted the Portuguese Open twice. Steel has always has a policy which seeks to protect nature. His initial good works have been carefully continued by the owners of the course and meanwhile Steel designed a further nine holes within the Vila Sol complex, which complement the existing cours admirably. Vila Sol course, 27 holes, a total of 9414m; 1-9 3241m, 10-18 3094m and 19-27 3079m.
